Day 18
I’ve got 99 problems but the devil ain’t one! Actually, I don’t know if I have 99 problems either LOL But what I do know is that if I go looking for trouble, I’ll find it. If I go recalling all the problems, I’ve had in my life or in my marriage, I’ll remember them. If I go recording everyones wrongs against me, I’ll never stop writing. More importantly, if I think God didn’t help me defeat the devil before my name was even written in His book, I’ve short changed God. I’ve caused problems in my life that the devil had no part in. It was my doing. It was my choices. And those choices have consequences. There’s also times the enemy got a real foot hold in areas of my life and I camped out at the site of “woe is me” even after God slayed my giant. That’s where God finds a lot of us. Looking backwards with anxiety, fear, shame, regret, stuck and complacent. Because we don’t know how to operate in victory. Sometimes our spouses can get stuck there too. One bad thing can happen in their day and they start recalling all the bad that has happened in their life. We encounter the same enemy with a different face disguised as a different problem. While we are saying, “oh no, not again,” our God is saying, “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
Stop counting your problems and start remembering His promises! The enemy can’t take anymore ground because my Bible says, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” (Romans 16:20) He walks with you and talks with you and fights your battles with you! Let’s goooooo!!!!! If that don’t make you run the hallways in your house, your wood is wet!
Pray these verses over your husband today and yourself.
“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” Colossians 2:15
“For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’’ (Deuteronomy 20:4)
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
“No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17
Challenge
Pray those verses and replace the word “you” with your spouses name and your name. Send one of those verses to him just as a reminder that God will continue to fight any of his battles.
