Day 27
It’s been a funktastic few days for me. My dads one year anniversary of his death threw me for a loop. I needed to unplug. So I did. Between the hurricanes, fires, flooding, tornadoes, mudslides and election banter, I think we could all unplug for a while!
Recent events have me asking, “is my house in order?” If Jesus comes back tomorrow, will my household be ready? I don’t mean the laundry ladies, that’s on my never ending list and the one thing I can’t wait to NOT have when I get to heaven. Can I get an amen?! Are your testimonies written down in your Bible for your loved ones to read so they have hope? Have you had the hard conversations with loved ones who are on the fence with faith? Did you make a list of all your people who you want to see in heaven and have been crossing off their names one by one as you evangelize to them? Are you afraid of asking people where they stand with Jesus? Let’s not over complicate the question or be afraid to talk about it. Simply ask if they have relationship with Jesus. If they say yes, ask them to share their testimony with you. If they say no, ask if that’s something they have ever wanted to do but didn’t know how. There’s lots of opportunities to take people to heaven with us. My dad asked God into his heart on his death bed a few days before he died. Some people don’t think they are worthy of salvation because of their past. It’s imperative we assure people that what Jesus did on the cross is for everyone, no matter how short of a time they have left on earth. What God promised me in heaven, is the same heaven that welcomed my father ahead of me.
Don’t wait, friend. Ask the question.
Prayer prompt
Pray over your husband that he would have burden for his loved ones that aren’t saved. Same with you too.
Romans 9:1-5 I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, 4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. 5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised![a] Amen.
Ask the Lord to reveal people to you and your husband that you can share the gospel with.
Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
Pray you have holy boldness to share the gospel when the time comes.
1 Peter 3:15 “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect”
Challenge
I know I’ve asked this before but let’s make for certain we ACTUALLY do it-because I know how challenges can be overlooked 😉 Write your testimony on a piece of paper and stick it in an envelope in your bible labeled “My Testimony.” Ask your husband to do the same. Any time you lack the words or confidence to share the gospel, just allow people to read your testimony.
