I have an infinity for sunrises and sunsets. I had a friend who told me that watching the sunrises and being outside when it sets, regulates your biological clock and you fall asleep and wake easier. Your biological time clock will tell you when it’s time to rise and when it’s time to shut down for rest. Makes sense to me. The added beauty is watching the sky turn all sorts of colors within in a matter of minutes and then “poof” it’s gone. God has all sorts of special ways he displays His glory. I’m taking a guess that Jesus loved the sunrises too. The word says, “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” (Mark 1:35) Prayer was important and necessary for Jesus. That should be our take too. As believers a consistent prayer life is crucial for us. I see a lot of people conforming God’s word to their lifestyle. We must conform our lifestyle to His word. The true and complete word of God. But here’s the problem, we want to add and subtract to it. We want to make excuses that we are “working on it” without living it out in our daily lives. If you find yourselves years down the road experiencing the same result over and over, and stuck in the same pattern, arguing about the same issues, you are taking away from His word. If you read it, learn it, live it out, you will absolutely see a positive difference in living His word makes in your life. It starts with a special prayer time in His word. He’s molding us into disciples. But if we keep trying to take the clay from His hands and press each corner of our lives how we see fit, then we are messing up the masterpiece God is trying to create in us. Are you moldable? Are you teachable? If someone says you are hurting them and there’s things you’ve done and keep doing, can you hear past being offended and truly work on the problem? Do you take from others their time and attention and not think to give back? We should be waking early and praying without interruptions and ask ourselves hard questions and ask God to open our eyes and humble our hearts to His answer. God will take you as you are, but remember He wants to make you into what HE desires. Be thankful for that! Be of one mind, be loving toward one another, be gracious, and be kind. (1 Peter 3:8) Stay prayed up, friends!
Prayer prompts
Pray that your husband has a solitary place that he can go to and pray. (Mark 1:35)
Pray over your husband that he will hear past being offended and correct any behavior that doesn’t line up with God’s will.
“All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)
Pray that he has a teachable spirit.
“Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.” (Proverbs 13:18)
Lord, help me designate my own prayer time early in the morning. Away from distractions and disruptions. Help me pray earnestly like Jesus did. I pray that my spouse makes it a priority. Help him designate his own time to slip away and pray. As he prays, reveal things to him and open his eyes to gentle correction and conviction. I pray that he doesn’t stiff arm wise people from helping. I pray he never gets prideful where you resist him like your word says (James 4:6-7). Lord, help us communicate in a way that we hear each other and work toward resolution and not repetition of sin. I pray we don’t get stuck fighting each other, when we should be building each other up. Help us to realize what a gift it is to commune with you, Father. To be in fellowship with You and have a direct, personal relationship with You. In Jesus name, Amen.
