Day 19
I get a kick listening to remixes of nursery rhymes to the beat of Lil Jon rap songs. It’s funny how moms will do anything to take it back to their glory days and make learning fun for everyone. Even themselves! Of course, this time around the lyrics are PG and the dance moves require no twerking. The music I consumed would literally have my body doing moves that were not becoming. Insert hands over your eyes emoji here LOL But like the Hokey Pokey, Jesus literally had to get my whole body in, shake me all-about and turn myself around because that’s literally what it’s all about! He had to take every part of me, from what I listened to, how I spoke, the way I used my body, right down to my very feet and change who I was and I trade it for something better. He had to shake the sin out of me! The book of Leviticus demonstrates for us how God’s people should go about their daily life. There’s detailed instructions on everything from sacrifices, duties, sexual, dietary and economic practices of the Israelites and moral holiness. He gave the children of Israel detailed instructions on how to live their lives set apart by God. They were to consecrate themselves. The definition of consecrate leaves no wiggle room for interpretation, it’s very clear, to make something sacred or dedicate it to a higher purpose. In reference to God’s specific instructions on how to consecrate oneself, almost every chapter of Leviticus begins with, “The Lord said to Moses.” Wouldn’t you love the Lord to speak directly to you about how you can dedicate yourself to Him? Me too, friend! The great news is that He already has, we just have to open our Bibles. That’s my prayer today for my spouse and for myself, I’m praying we continue to put our whole body into the circle so God can keep shaking and turning us around from every evil nature we have in us and be used as a living sacrifice and a walking testimony to others.
Prayer Prompts
Pray that whatever God commands you and your husband to do, you will do it.
“So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord commanded through Moses.” Leviticus 8:36
Pray that as your husband follows Gods commands, the Lord will continue to appear and speak to him. Pray that he is obedient, your husband will see God’s glory in his work, family, friends and in all his ways.
“Then Moses said, ‘This is what the Lord has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the Lord may appear to you.” Leviticus 9:6
Lord, I thank you for giving us the detailed instructions on how we can consecrate ourselves to you. You don’t make us figure it out and second guess. We know that as we are praying to you, you are listening and we are communing with you. I pray over my husband and that he would lay his life down before you to shake up and shake loose anything that can’t be used for your Kingdom. Lead his life so that he can be the best leader in our home. I pray my husbands obedience would produce evidence of your glory in his life. I want him to see you at work! We do not want to just dip our toes in lukewarm waters, we want to be ALL in with you! Speak to my husband and myself like you spoke to Moses and give us clear instructions. We are listening. In Jesus name, Amen.
Challenge
Send your man a link to a song that makes you think about him. Put in the message, “This song makes me think about you. Can’t wait until you get home!!”
